The state approached me with the opportunity to adopt him, a decision I wholeheartedly embraced. On December 31st, 2013, we officially became a family.
In subsequent years, recognizing the paramount importance of a supportive environment for Nickolas's education, I made the difficult choice to relocate to another state. I left behind my career and returned to the north bay of California, where I found a highly acclaimed school specializing in the needs of individuals within the autism spectrum.
Becoming a stay-at-home parent allowed me to extend assistance to other parents of special needs children, facilitating after-school programs and providing transportation to various engagements. Witnessing these children grow and navigate the complexities of our world underscored the importance of financial support in their journey to adulthood.
